Robobalancer closes the Gap in robotic precision deficiencies of current robotic systems and the unmet needs are:
Most robots follow a pre-set plan and cannot easily adapt to intraoperative surprises like unexpected bone density variations or complex soft-tissue tension.
Surgeons often have to "accept" the robot's calculated path which may not be truly optimal for a specific patient's kinematics.
Manual overrides and complex registration steps add to OR time and increase cost and without RoboBalancer, the amount of manual override is unknown.
A clinical trial of 67 patients was carried out from November 2021 to December 2023 and is published as an open-access article.
