Another year has gone by, again, so fast. Not that we did anything extraordinary to help hasten it by, but “snap” it’s gone!

Casey has been quite busy of late. Doing a bit of teaching in another faculty, Bio-engineering, this year. He continues to work for the Orthopaedic faculty – same old as last year, zoom teaching, marking exams, etc. As well he is now designing a new medical device. One company is interested in it. He is doing some consulting for a few companies as well. All in all, he keeps himself occupied.

I have had a quiet year. I joined the Active Aging group Centre for our area. I attend fitness classes set up for us old geezers. There are some 80+ s in the class that can put me to shame!

Besides fitness, there are lots of classes to learn almost everything it seems. We even joined a bus full of agers for a trip to Malaysia for a day of durian (fruit grown in South East Asia – it requires acquiring a taste). We pigged out. It was fun as we did a bit of sightseeing, shopping, etc. as well. The Singapore government is working hard at getting agers active, fit, socialized, and up to date. Singapore just became a “blue” country. For those who don’t know what this is, it means Singaporeans live longer, healthier; similar to Japan.

Our elderly cats both passed this year, Rusty in January and Willow in June. We do miss our lap cats.

I did manage to get home in October for a couple of weeks +. I stayed with my sisters. Despite a nasty cold the first week, I did manage to see a few people. We had a great time, as my brother

David, his daughter Jessica and her hubby John, and his granddaughter Jesselyn were handy by, and we spent a few evenings playing silly games, eating pizza. Good fun. Everyone is well and didn’t get my cold!

The subway station is only 5 minutes away. It is super convenient with foodcourt and a 24 hour grocery store just downstairs.
This place is just like a private condo and has won numerous design awards.

The other big news, at least for my fellow Canadians, is that Tim Horton’s has moved into Singapore over the past year opening numerous branches all over the place. The coffee is up to standard, but no bagels so far! So, I am boycotting them. Although the Boston Creams were beckoning………
